A Cool Drink of Water…

January 14th, 2019

Congratulations to the Denver Water Board for recognizing the importance of caring for our urban forests!  The Water Board is not only allowing the deep watering of trees, shrubs, and perennials, they are also widely advocating this process.  Use soft spray wands, root feeders or drip systems, never allowing the water to run off the target area; any sprinkler that sprays into the air is NOT allowed.  As a rule of thumb for trees, every 1-inch diameter of trunk requires 5 minutes of water time.  For example:  a tree that is 10 inches in diameter should be watered for approximately 50 minutes.  Please call us if you would like us to deep water your plants.  Using our tank trunk, we inject the precise amount of water into the soil.  We establish the frequency of watering according to your schedule and the tree’s need for moisture.  We recommend at a minimum deep watering on a monthly basis.  It is equally important to water during the growing season and during the winter.
